I come from a small European country - Serbia, where at the time of my growing up, little space was left for dreaming about something bigger. I have a master’s degree in software engineering and so far, more than 4 years of professional experience in software construction. During my childhood days I always wanted to experience new things, I always had a rebellious spirit and tried to question everything, never conforming to general thinking. This has greatly influenced my decision to leave my home country. I saw it as an exciting adventure. Given that I had already visited Amsterdam three times, the decision where to continue my journey came easily. Nature, museums, picturesque canals, bikes, vibrant IT scene and above all amazing people - it was love at first sight. After three tough but very interesting interviews I joined Dynamic Credit. Now, in retrospect, I can say I couldn't have found a better company as an expat starting his new life in Amsterdam. Dynamic has been there for me from the very beginning. They provided assistance with all the arrangements I needed in order to move to the Netherlands. The fact that I was able to grow professionally so much I owe to Dynamic. The company's most valuable asset are its amazing people. With more than 20 nationalities you can never fail to learn something new every day. I am really looking forward to all opportunities and challenges that await me in the years to come in this company.
I joined Dynamic Credit around 5 years ago, which at the time had around 12 employees. I had never heard of Dynamic before applying, but I liked the mindset of the people, the entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to execute new ideas; something that I missed at the big and well-known companies I looked at. After joining I had an active role in the set-up and management of our mortgage investments from the start as part of the newly-formed mortgage team.
Dynamic Credit is a culturally-diverse company with employees with around 20 nationalities, different skillsets and experiences, but all with a common goal: to create a better match between savings and credit a more prosperous and sustainable society. What I really appreciate is that people are not afraid to challenge each other to get to a better result and taking initiative is not only appreciated but encouraged as well.
In my spare time I like to go for a run through the Amsterdamse Bos or along the Amstel, cooking, reading, traveling or occasionally binge-watching a Netflix series. The office is just a 10-minute walk from my home on the Zuidas.
Minds are like parachutes – they only function when open.” – I saw this once on Bloomberg quote of the day, and I think it describes exactly how people at Dynamic work. People at Dynamic are extremely open-minded and never hesitate to share their ideas/opinions. We challenge each other and are challenged by each other every working day and this helped me personally to grow a lot.
What’s the strangest thing of living in the Netherlands? There are so many different types and shapes of bikes! I’ve seen bikes with huge baskets in the front carrying kids and dogs, bikes in shape and color of a banana with the cyclist lying inside the banana, and a tandem would just be a run-of-the-mill bicycle. I’m very surprised by how complicated but charming the city of Amsterdam is. It is definitely very difficult to organize the city given that the city has so many canals, with buildings supported by wooden poles on the banks, and with countless cyclists, cars, trams, and pedestrians pass by every little street. But the charm of the city has been well preserved and you can easily appreciate the city by cycling through or going on a boat trip.
People joining Dynamic Credit should fit in the DNA: entrepreneurial, challenging, fast-paced and inclusive. The hiring process is designed to make sure that the match is there. To make sure you can really get to know Dynamic Credit and the role and for us to thoroughly get to know you.
The process, which has been labelled ‘gruesome’ by some and which we know to be very effective, is as follows:
